THE THREE DIMENSIONS OF SCIENCE LEARNINGWithin the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), there are three distinct and equally important dimensions to learning science. These dimensions are combined to form each standard—or performance expectation—and each dimension works with the other two to help students build a cohesive understanding of science over time
NB Priority Standards:
Goal 1: Develop self-awareness and self-management skills to achieve school and life success.
B. Identify and manage one’s emotions and behavior.
Goal 2: Use social-awareness and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain positive relationships.
B: Recognize the feelings and perspectives of others.
C. Use communication and social skills to interact effectively with others.
Goal 3: Demonstrate decision-making skills and responsible behaviors in personal, school, and community contexts.
B. Apply decision-making skills to deal responsibly with daily academic and social situations.
